How to Sell (Farrar, Straus & Giroux)
Clancy Martin's first novel reads like a piece of sleaze, but it turns out — surprise! — to be a philosophical novel about the problems of appearance and reality. Martin joins a cadre of novelists — Bret Easton Ellis, Dennis Cooper, Fyodor Dostoyevsky — who expect readers to see beneath the surface. But what if it backfires? What if readers are fooled?

I'm just about done with this. It Started out so good, but kind of fizzling toward the end. not all that interested in the characters, and I might not be smart enough to understand what is "really" going on.
ReplyDeletekinda of don't want to finish it.
